Sr. DevOps Engineer at ProctorU in Alberta, VA
The role:
The DevOps Engineer will create, deploy, monitor, scale and secure infrastructure and applications with focus on automating as much as possible. This role will work with other engineers to evolve the company's CI/CD capabilities and will play a key role in the implementation of DevOps processes and tooling. This role is key to helping the teams in the engineering organization be successful in their jobs. The things you'll do:
Help developers deliver their code to production (pipelines, code quality, Github, etc). Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals to help smooth the tight release deadlines Ensure availability, performance, scalability and security of deployed infrastructure Build and maintain operations software which automates the configuration, provisioning, deployment and monitoring of our core products Build and maintain our production infrastructure to ensure ongoing reliability while maximizing development team efficiency Develop automation frameworks for public cloud infrastructure deployments Monitor, troubleshoot and debug infrastructure, network, operating system, and system performance issues Maintenance, management, and streamlining of all of our CI/CD processes Participate in architecture planning sessions with development team Work closely with developers and QA teams to understand how to improve their processes and deliver high quality software more effectively The skills & abilities you'll need:
A minimum of 5 years of experience managing Linux systems A minimum of 2 years of experience managing docker containers A minimum of 2 years using configuration management and automation tools such as Git, Jenkins, Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Terraform, or other CI/CD tools Experience with AWS or similar cloud environments (Azure, GCP) Experience with continuous integration / deployment (CI/CD) in a high availability environment Fluency in at least two scripting languages (i.e.Ruby, Python, Bash, etc.) Ability to work effectively with distributed teams using collaboration tools and without face to face communication Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation Building of monitoring/alerting/performance metrics platforms
Salary Range:
$100K -- $150K
